Dear Pop, I waited too long to buy you something for Father's Day so will just write a note to let you know you are not forgotten anyway. I'm enclosing money for a little treat of some kind. The weather is hot and sticky again. Ruthie is taking her nap now. All she has on is a pair of pants and she is wringing wet. Everything is going fine for us. It is slow but there really isn't any rush. There are so many things to do that I would just as soon do but when the weather is so blame hot I just can't. Suppose Mother and Helen have gone to Knoxville by now. I hope they had a nice trip - although I can't see how it could be much fun when it is so warm and having two babies to take care of. At least it will be good to get to Knoxville. Utah [?] Radio is closing down from June 30th to July 10 so Cully gets a vacation. All those working less than 6 months up to the 1st of June get 5 days pay. He worked two days in May so he will get his 5 days pay. He sure is lucky. We plan to get a lot of work done around here and then may take a cabin near Kenosha, Wisconsin for a couple of days. Ruthie is awake and Jeannie is fussy so I better cut this short. Write when you can and let me know what you hear from Mother. Does she still plan to return to Portland in time for her Association? Ruthie has found a nice little girl to play with and she lives only 3 houses from us. They put on old high heeled shoes and with their pocket books and dolls, go strolling up and down the street. Ruthie sure does have a nice tan. Sorry but I don't think this will ever get there in time. Love, Gladys |
