Dear Folks, This morning I went out to Frances Woodfill's and stayed with her boys. She really is swell and I like her very much. Jimmy and Mary got along fine with her three boys. I took them all for a hike and they thought that was fun. I wonder if Frances is pregnant again as she went to the doctor and the boys said when she was gone that they were going to have a sister but Frances didn't say anything about it. The boys mentioned Sunday school one time and I asked them which one they went to and they said the Christian Science so Frances evidently hasn't given it up. Saturday night we had lots of fun. We went to the Marigold Ball Room and it is really nice there. It has a huge dance floor and a good orchestra. We went with Bob and his girl. Sunday Elmer and I and the kids went to the Falls and took our picnic lunch. We hiked all around down by the Falls and the kids rode the ponies and had fun in the playground. It was Mankato Day so there were lots and lots of people there. Mother, I guess you have given up hopes of ever getting your watch back but I will get it mailed for sure this week. I haven't even worn it but just put off getting it sent. Wednesday night Eden, Selma and I are going out to Hopkins to meet Fritz. Tell Stella I will write to her Thursday instead of tonight so I can tell her all about it. He asked about Stella and all of you when I talked to him over the phone. It must be ten years since I've seen Fritz. I think I will invite Gwen and John Winter over for Friday night. Elmer is anxious to get in a good chess game and I bet John is a good player. Elmer gets a vacation starting July 1st but it adds up to quite a few days as it starts the weekend before. I wish we could get a cottage someplace but it's too late now to reserve one. He would like me to go out and play golf with him but I don't like to leave the children so haven't gone. Well Folks this isn't much of a letter but I will stop and look for a box to put the watch in. Hope you are all fine. With Love, Helen |
