Dear Helen,
Your nice letter came today. Sorry I haven’t written before and thanked you for the fudge. It is the best that I have ever had. It stays nice and fresh in the can. It’s so good I hate to eat it up. Thanks a lot.
Our weather here has been just like spring for the last couple of days. If the ocean was so calm you must have really nice weather too.
It must have been nice to ride over into New Hampshire. I would love to take a trip through the New England states some time.
Since you like it so well there, the government will probably move you somewhere else. It would be nice to be able to stay there through the summer.
Glad to hear you got your tire o.k. and that it wasn’t burned up. A lot of people must have lost tires in the fire.
Fifteen dollars is an awful price to have to pay for an old tire. There should be a law against it.
Too bad your nice weather had to be spoiled by the rain. Hope that it will stop soon.
What kind of schools do they have back there? What would schools do in our state if they closed every time it rained? Don’t they have any summer vacation there? If they take a week off out of every six, it must take a long time to get through.
Hope Cully will be o.k. Tuesday and will be able to be there. It’s nice that you are able to see him. Bet it makes the game twice as interesting.
Yes I am still saving pennies. A few weeks ago I cashed $2.00 worth that were duplicates. They count up fast and it’s fun saving them.
We aren’t going to have any vacations at all until school is out, which will be the last of May. The time will go fast though.
Thanks again for the swell fudge. I’ll write sooner next time.
With love, Jim
