My dear Helen,
Yesterday being Papa’s last day of his vacation we went for a ride in the afternoon so I did not get to write to you.
It was a nice day. The mountain stood out beautifully. Today is rainy and dreary.
Yesterday we went to Bothell. Mrs. Martel wasn’t home. We had some ice cream, then came home a new way along the west side of Lake Sammamish to Issaquah. Just out of Issaquah we saw a herd of goats. There must have been at least 75 of them. They were being driven home for milking. We also saw lots of pussy willows yesterday too.
We had a letter from Jimmie Saturday. He is taking his semester exams the first 3 ½ days of this week. Said he was leaving there Thursday noon for home. This is all the spring vacation they will have, (the rest of the week) then school will let out June 1st.
Yes, I know which stockings you mean. Will send them and am glad you can use them. By dressing warm enough you will enjoy hiking by the water. I think you are going to enjoy it on the Island very much. It sounds wonderful. The oil stove will keep you comfortable while the weather is cold.
If you like Mrs. Ducret you two can have some good times together and it will help to keep you from feeling lonely.
It was too bad you had to get a license there, but it was the only thing you could do if you are to stay there. Had you gotten one before leaving Georgia? Here we have to have ours by January 1st.
I am glad Betty and Andy got our Christmas greeting. Have not heard or seen them, but if he is working 7 days a week they really have no time. Only now the welders are on strike. Just went out a few days ago.
I am glad you folks plan to go in to the game and to see Cully tomorrow night. Will be anxious to hear all about it.
Jimmie’s new address is 1709 – A. Street. He eats at a student eating club. Gets a 5.50 ticket for 5.00.
Papa is ready to go so will write more later.
Love to you both – Mother.
Have not reread this. Excuse mistakes.
