Minneapolis Dear Pop, We arrived home last night (Thursday) about 11:15 in a pouring rain. The wind was blowing too so it was a nasty night. All went fine for us the whole way. The kids were good so we had a nice trip. At Smelterville, Idaho we stopped at a nice cabin camp where we had stayed 3 ½ years ago. We needed groceries so decided to drive down the street about 2 blocks to a store. We had gone just 1 block when one of our trailer tires went flat. It was dandy flat place and still light out so while Cully changed tires I hiked to the store. We were glad we had stopped before dark and before we headed over the mountains to Missoula. That was the only trouble we had the whole trip. Our next night we stayed in Livingston, also at a camp we had been to before. It was grand – bathtub, radio and all. Wednesday night we had another nice place in Dickinson, North Dakota. Then home last night. Cully’s ____ all ripped to pieces which made him kind of sick but the next morning in Wallace he was able to get a new one so we were all set again. The roads were good until we reached eastern Montana and Dakota. There has been so much rain that the roads had softened up and were real bad in patches. All day Thursday we had to buck a high wind. Suppose Mom is on her way today. Hope she has a nice trip and that you will not be too lonesome for her. I’m sure you will get along fine though and do get lots of rest. I will write to mother at Helen’s so she will know we reached here in good time. We plan to go to Chicago next Wednesday the 24th. I will write again soon. Hope you have heard from Jim.
