Sadie Erwin Box 44, Enumclaw, Washington |
Dear Folks, It’s now 6:45 a.m. and have been up for two hours. We have to be all ready by seven. The Pullman cars arrived yesterday so are now able to travel. Helen called yesterday noon to see how I was. If we weren’t leaving today, I was going down there last night. I’m going to call her before we leave anyway. They plan on feeding us 7 meals, so the trip will be a little over two days. Probably get there early Sunday morning. We played a couple of basketball games yesterday against the other squadron in our group. We won both games and I was high point man. We all had a lot of fun and helped kill the time. Since we got up so early, they probably won’t even start loading until late this afternoon and then finally leave tonight. If I don’t call you by Sunday night you can expect a letter soon afterwards. With love, Jim |
