Dear Folks, Have your nice letters written while at the cabin - also received the quarterly and books - Thanks for all. Today Evelyn and I took the kids to the park at the end of our street and let them play in the big sand box - also went in the pool. It is a lot nicer than I ever dreamed. We brought our picnic lunch so had a real nice time. She took the bus over and then left early so the youngsters would get their naps. It made us sick to hear about the cabin. If we could only get up there once in awhile for a weekend. The books are swell. I still do not have a typewriter but will get busy now that I have my washing machine - that was the most important. The other two books are just what Cully wanted. He spent an hour or so last night reading and looking them over. I will like hearing from Mrs. Zilliax and will answer her letter. Glad they enjoyed the day at Greenwater. I'm still waiting for my blinds. That's the way everything seems to go these days. Hope you hear from Jim soon. I sent the clipping to Helen. We have decided to put all extra money we can save into War Bonds. The interest is far more than what the bank pays anyway. Our evenings have been nice so have had some good sleep. Some days have been real hot and others quite nice. We are going on a picnic Sunday with the Kaspars. Next week Cully may have to work at Marian, Indiana. If so I will be glad to have Louise stay as long as possible. Jeannie's mouth has been quite sore - also seemed to have an ear ache for a couple of days but it is draining now and has pimples around her one ear and one cheek. These will be the last teeth until the two year old molars. She is trying to talk and says so many cute things, like "Want Some". [Cute!] Calls Ruthie and says, "jump" and stamps one foot and laughs real hard. More soon. Love, Gladys |
