Dear Helen,
Mother had intended to write you last evening but Stella and Harold and the baby came in and we played cards until eleven o’clock. Mother and I won. Both sides were in the hole for a long time.
Yesterday (Sunday) mother and I went for a drive after church; we went down to the Sound. We went to Lacata Beach. Didn’t think much of it. We then drove to Black Point. Boy that is a dandy place. It is between Redondo and Tacoma. After that we drove almost to Tacoma and got a most wonderful view of Mt. Rainier. Then we started for home. We stopped at Puyallup for big ice cream cones for 5¢. We will take you there next summer.
Today Jim played basketball. Both teams won then he stayed for the dance in the gym after the games. Saturday he worked Saturday evening. We let him have the car. He and Jack took Vivian and her friend to the show at Auburn and then to the dance at Krane or Krain. They didn’t get home until almost three A.M.
This is a swell day, not a cloud in the sky. It is a little colder (25° above). Mother had a letter from Mrs. Ellsworth. She will stay in the South until March 10th then they will go to the fair at San Francisco and then back to Minneapolis about the 1st of April. I will have to stop now.
Love, Pop
