Dear folks,
It is now noon time so I will write a few lines. This will be the last letter that will reach Minneapolis before Mother and Stella leave for Uncle Frank’s on Monday.
Received mother’s letter of the 20th this morning. We are very glad to get letters even though they are short. We think that you have been very nice to us to write so often. You have been on the go most of the time.
Jim got along fine at the Kiwanis Club last night. Ben told me this morning that Jim did just fine. We are invited up to Swain’s for supper this evening. That’s a break for us.
You folks must not be in too much of a hurry to get on the road when you start back. If you make it in 4 days you will still have to average better than 450 per day. We will be looking for you quite late a week from Saturday. We have missed you very much and won’t let you get away for such a long time anymore.
Ed Smith was off yesterday and again today. It rained a lot yesterday and off and on today, the sun does come out part of the time today.
I bet you had a good dinner at Mrs. Ellsworth’s Tuesday night. It was swell of the girls to get you the hat and shoes. The ___ stores must expect big things now that they are remodeling their stores.
I am glad to hear that Mrs. Tetstaff is ok and at home again with the boys. Well I am to be assistant usher now. Mrs. Gossard asked me last evening. I had that job last night anyway. Radcliff couldn’t come and called Bill and Bill passed it on to me, so Mrs. Collins had to do the papers herself. We had a good turnout last night, an even 30 people. Slatt’s maid was there and gave a testimony. She came in late and when I stood up to show her a seat I gave my chair a good kick and made plenty of noise.
Well I must eat now and deliver my papers. Will seal letter up later as I may have more to write this afternoon.
Love, Pop.
