Dear Folks,
Here it is Sunday and haven’t left yet. Tomorrow we will get paid and are to leave Tuesday.
An armored division in the southern part of the state is going across and has taken all the Pullman cars. All our equipment and clothing left the other day so just have what we were to take with us.
It’s a beautiful warm summer day out. Should start being like this from now on.
The Colonel of the post is still trying to get our orders changed to keep us here. He wants us for the duration. He has kept us two months longer than the schedule as it is. It doesn’t look like he can stop us now though.
Hope you are having nice weather and everything is going along okay.
We are all pretty low on dough so are glad they are paying us before leaving.
Write to this address and the mail will be forwarded. Probably get a letter faster that way than waiting for my new address.
Will close now and write when we get there.
With love, Jim
