My dear Helen, This will be a short letter this morning before Papa leaves for work. We planned yesterday to rest and look at the paper for a while, then work out in the yard and get a lot of letters written. We had just come in here to sit down when Radcliffs came and wanted to take us for a little ride. Well we went. We drove around the eastside of Lake Washington to Everett, then to Seattle. Had dinner there last evening. Called on a friend of theirs and got home real late. I marked up my lesson as I always do before going to bed Sunday night. It was 12:30 by the time I was through. It rained some of the time, then the sun would shine. We saw a lot of lovely flowers. The daffodils are in bloom much more in the valley than here although we have some just coming out. Will write tonight. Much love, Mother. |
