My dear Helen,
Just to wish you a very happy birthday. It does not seem like January here at all. It is a beautiful sunshiny day and more like spring than winter.
The Martels are coming over tomorrow afternoon and will be here for supper so I am trying to get a lot done today.
Harold took some pictures of Bernice today so you will be getting some soon.
Your Wednesday noon letter came yesterday. We are glad Wally is able to go back to work. It’s a shame he had to get hurt that way.
Jimmie went to Buckley last night to play basketball. They lost again but anyway he got to play.
Mrs. Swain came down while the men were working at the store. Went home about 9:30.
The mailman just came with a letter from Gladys. Said she had not heard from us for a long time. Now I am wondering if the letter I wrote to you girls last week (part carbon) reached either one of you. It was a long letter. I finished writing on the back of the carbon sheets to each of you.
More tomorrow.
Much love, Mother.
