Dear Grandma and all: -
We had a wonderful time in Chicago and saw so many old friends. Most everything seemed the same - except the hockey team. There were many new faces there. The Hawks have a poor team and lost both games. I was very happy Cully was not one of them. He was on television for a 10 minute interview. Glad the girls were listening to Breakfast Club. We enjoyed the broadcast very much.
The girls had fun here and Grandma says they were good girls. Helen came after them and took them over to Carlson's for a while Saturday.
The plane ride to Chicago was truly wonderful - had a return ticket but all planes were grounded yesterday so we were forced to take the Olympian home. It is a swell train though so we didn't mind. We were glad to get back with our girls again.
The girls received the cute cards and dollars today. Thanks so much. You already did so much.
Did Stella tell you that Betty and Andy sold their house? That means they will be moving to Bellevue in about a month.
I hope to get down to do some shopping before we leave. I bought shoes in Chicago but want a dress or suit before I leave here - also want to get the last 4 knives to my silver.
We are leaving here Monday night the 29th so will be back home Wednesday the 31st. Plan to drive up to the cabin either that day or Thursday so will see you then. Tell Stella for me too as I probably will not have another chance to write. We will be thinking of you all over at Benson's tomorrow night. We plan to break away from Edna's early Christmas Day to spend a little time the rest of the day with Helen and Elmer.
See you soon.
Love, Gladys
